Thomas Tuchel has recalled Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cole Palmer to the England squad for four upcoming Nations League fixtures. This announcement on 18 September 2026 marks the first international window since the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup.
Alexander-Arnold, 27, returns to the setup with 34 caps, having last appeared for the national team in June 2025. Tuchel confirmed that the defender has been selected specifically to play as a right-back for this camp.
Cole Palmer, 24, is also back in the squad. His most recent international appearance was in a 1-0 friendly defeat against Japan in March 2026.
The selection process resulted in the omission of several players, including Phil Foden, Dean Henderson, Jordan Henderson, Reece James, Djed Spence, and John Stones.
England’s upcoming schedule begins with a match against Spain on 26 September. This will be followed by fixtures against the Czech Republic on 29 September and 6 October, with a match against Croatia scheduled for 3 October.
