Manchester City have been found guilty of breaching the majority of 115 financial rules alleged by the Premier League. The findings follow a period in which the club secured eight trophies, including three league titles, three League Cups, one Community Shield, and one FA Cup.

Rodri, who made 298 appearances for the club between 2018 and 2026 before joining Barcelona this August, stated that the club maintains confidence in its innocence. He noted that players continue to believe in the club's position until any wrongdoing is proven.

The club previously faced separate financial fair play charges in 2020. In that instance, the Court of Arbitration for Sport cleared Manchester City after the club was initially issued a two-year ban from European competitions by UEFA.

Andy Burnham has requested that the public examine the independent commission's report in detail before forming conclusions regarding the current charges.
