The proposed transfer of Richarlison from Tottenham Hotspur to Vasco da Gama has collapsed. Although the two clubs reached an agreement regarding a transfer fee for the 29-year-old forward, the move failed due to an inability to finalize personal terms.

The Brazilian transfer window is scheduled to close on the night of Friday, September 12, 2026. With the deadline imminent, the forward remains at Tottenham, where he is currently involved in a dispute concerning the final nine months of his contract.

Tottenham holds an option to trigger a 12-month extension on the player's current deal, which is set to expire next summer. This situation follows a season in which Richarlison served as Tottenham's leading Premier League scorer with 11 goals.

Manager Roberto de Zerbi has stated that the decision to exclude Richarlison from the current Premier League squad was not his own.
