Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has confirmed that he has not yet appointed a new vice-captain for the club. The position became vacant following the transfer of Andy Robertson to Tottenham.

Iraola stated that he has not yet met the full squad in person, which has delayed his decision-making process. He noted that he does not currently have the entire group available to evaluate.

Regarding his leadership philosophy, Iraola remarked that players do not require an armband to function as leaders within the team. He emphasized that he frequently identifies captains and leaders who do not hold formal titles.

The club is currently preparing for a pre-season tour of the United States. Alisson, Dominik Szoboszlai, Joe Gomez, and Alexis Mac Allister have been identified as potential candidates for the role.
