Liverpool Football Club has issued 432 lifetime bans and 115 indefinite suspensions as part of a major enforcement operation against ticket touting. The disciplinary actions follow an investigation into illegal ticket sales conducted in collaboration with Merseyside Police.
The operation resulted in the seizure of more than £1.2 million in assets linked to money laundering and the unauthorized sale of match tickets. These seized assets have been divided between the Home Office and Merseyside Police.
Deputy Chief Inspector Nick Suffield described the initiative as a successful example of partnership working between the police and the football club. The collaboration aims to protect the interests of fans and the general public regarding ticket access.
