The Football Association has fined Hull City £30,000 for failing to prevent supporters from using offensive, abusive, or insulting language regarding sexual orientation. The disciplinary action follows an investigation into incidents that occurred during the club's 4-0 FA Cup defeat to Chelsea at the MKM Stadium in February 2026.
During that match, stadium officials attempted to halt the behavior by issuing warnings to spectators through the public address system and on-screen messages. Despite these interventions, three individuals were arrested for allegedly engaging in homophobic chanting.
In response to the incident, Hull City has issued a minimum three-year ban to the three supporters identified.
The club is scheduled to face Chelsea again in a Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
