Fabián Ruiz was presented with his body weight in local tomatoes during a ceremony in his hometown of Los Palacios y Villafranca following Spain’s 2026 World Cup title. The midfielder weighed in at 84.5 kg for the event.
This celebration follows a local tradition established by Jesús Navas, who began the practice of gifting regional produce to major tournament champions after Spain’s 2010 World Cup win. During the same ceremony, teammate Gavi was also honoured with 68.5 kg of tomatoes.
Ruiz, who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain, concludes his 2026 season having secured both a Champions League title and a World Cup trophy.
