Christian Eriksen has departed VfL Wolfsburg by mutual consent. The 151-cap Denmark international leaves the German second-tier club three years before his contract was originally scheduled to expire in June 2027.
Eriksen joined Wolfsburg as a free agent one year ago after leaving Manchester United. During his tenure with the club, he made 34 appearances.
The midfielder has not played since collapsing during a friendly match between Denmark and Ukraine in June 2026.
Wolfsburg managing director for sport Dieter Hecking stated that the club agreed to terminate the contract at the request of the player.
