Anthony Gordon has completed his first five matches for FC Barcelona after joining the club in May 2026 for a reported fee of £70 million. He is the second English player to sign a permanent deal with the club, following Gary Lineker.

In these initial appearances, Gordon has provided four assists for his teammates, though he has not yet scored a goal. This transition follows a productive 2025-26 Champions League campaign where he recorded 10 goals in 12 appearances for Newcastle United.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has highlighted Gordon’s role in the team’s attacking structure, specifically praising his ability to deliver the final pass. Sporting director Deco added that the winger’s style of play aligns with the tactical requirements established by the head coach.

The team has demonstrated significant offensive output during this period, scoring 22 goals across their first five matches of the 2026-27 season.
